Lackham

Wiltshire College & University Centre is pleased to have supported a charity initiative which has this year raised a record-breaking £66,000.

This is the fourth year that Lackham’s garden team has taken delivery of Christmas trees collected by Dorothy House Hospice Care from households across Wiltshire.

An impressive 470 will now be chipped at the College’s specialist land-based campus and utilised in flowerbeds and borders across the estate.

Lackham gardener Russell Fletcher said: “We are delighted to once again support Dorothy House in this annual initiative and dispose of the trees in an environmentally friendly way.”

In previous years, the College has also used the chipping as a learning resource for countryside, horticulture and landscaping students, with training and demonstrations lead by woodchipper specialists Jenson, TH White Group, This year, however, it is not possible.
