It is an integral part of the sports department, running alongside our sports courses, to allow for students to develop their abilities on the rugby field, alongside developing individuals experience and qualifications to excel within the industry.

Our ethos and what we do?

The Rugby Academy looks to develop a competitive environment where all students feel part of a unique sports team and are all striving to improve individually and as a group. The team will be competing in the AOC South East Men’s Rugby Union League as well as the regional competition, which lead into a national competition if the team is successful through the regional competition, and other competitive friendlies. We want players to get the full experience of a rugby academy to improve their performances as well as their experience with the college. The academy will use elite level technology to help analyse the performance of both the team and the individual players. Alongside rugby fixtures and training sessions, students will get the opportunity to be part of a strength and conditioning programme to help excel their performance.

The Wiltshire College Rugby Academy also looks to develop students off the rugby field as well as on by providing opportunities to gain rugby coaching qualifications and experience within a coaching or refereeing environment.
