Popular Lackham Lambing Weekends to be held across four dates in March

Lackham

Wiltshire College & University Centre's popular Lackham Lambing Weekends will be held across four dates in March.

Dates have been confirmed for the return of Wiltshire College & University Centre’s popular Lackham Lambing Weekends this spring.

Two fantastic family-fun weekends will be held at the Lackham campus, near Chippenham, in late March, with separate events taking place on Saturday 16th March, Sunday 17th March, Saturday 23rd March and Sunday 24th March. All events run from 10am-4pm, with last entry at 2.30pm.

The events have always proved hugely popular in the past and approximately 8,000 people attended across the four dates last year.

Attendees will get to see new-born lambs, watch the dairy herd being milked – with all milk being supplied to a famous chocolate manufacturer – and visit the calves, cows, pigs and donkeys at the campus farm.

Phil Steans, Farm and Estate Manager at Lackham, said: “Everyone is looking forward to the annual Lambing Weekends at our Lackham campus. Although the events coincided with particularly wet weather last year, footfall was still amazingly high and proved that these events remain as popular as ever.

“We started these events back in the mid-1990s and they’ve grown and grown to become four days of great family fun. As always, we will have a range of exciting activities going on so please join us if you can.”

Other activities taking place at the events include a mini farmers’ market, a variety of food and beverage stalls, visits to the site’s robotic dairy, tractor and trailer rides, birds of prey displays and a range of children’s activities.

Tickets must be booked in advance by clicking here and there will be no tickets available to purchase on the gate. Tickets are valid for the day of purchase only.

Tickets are priced at £13.50 for adults (over 16), £9 for children (3 and over), or £40 for a car (maximum number of people will be the number legally allowed to travel in that car). Children aged 2 and under can enter for free. Only Guide Dogs and Assistance Dogs are allowed on site.
