Course Overview


The Level 2 Travel and Tourism programme is intended to provide students with an introduction to the travel and tourism industry. Part of the course will include trips to various travel and tourism facilities and assignments will be set relating to these visits. Preparing learners to progress on to the Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Travel and Tourism and ready for employment.

What will I learn?


The course contains a number of different units that will be studied and subject to assessment including UK Travel and Tourism Sector, Factors Affecting Worldwide Travel and Tourism, Travel and Tourism Destinations and Travel and Tourism Employment to name a few. The course is assessed through a variety of mediums, from assignments, role play, presentations and exams.

Entry Requirements


4 GCSEs at grade 3 (D) or above (including Maths and English) or equivalent
A good reference
A satisfactory interview

Study, Assessment and Qualifications


Level 2 BTEC Extended Certificate in Travel and Tourism
You will be assessed using a variety of methods including written assignments, case studies and verbal presentations. Candidates will also undertake functional skills alongside their course should they not meet the minimum standard on English and Maths.

Additional Costs and Information


You will be expected to pay £300 towards the cost of the off-site activities and £53 for your uniform - funds are available for students in cases of financial hardship.
You will also be encouraged to undertake enrichment activities and events or complete a Personal and Social Development qualification.
