Course Overview

Have you ever wondered how maths is used in art, for example to mix paints in the correct ratio, drawing to scale, creating different shapes for collages and creating plans? This six week course will explore how to use these skills in a fun environment.

What will I learn?

During this six-week course you will learn:

Week 1: Cutting and indentifying different geometric shapes for collages
Week 2: Determining ratios in paint mixing (primary, secondary and tertiary colours)
Week 3: Creating patterns and tessellations
Week 4: Drawing linear perspective from observations
Week 5: Scale drawing and ratios
Week 6: Formulating plans and elevations

Study, Assessment and Qualifications

Assessment is informal, based on your personal targets, and the learning outcomes and will be undertaken regularly with you by the course tutor.

There are no entry requirements associated with this course.

Additional Costs and Information

There are no additional course fees.

Free fundable programme for aged 19+ who are in receipt of benefit or on a low wage income and must have lived in the UK for the last three years. You must currently reside in England. Should you need any additional information before applying, please do contact us on busdev@wiltshire.ac.uk.
