Course Overview
This course is for learners who have completed more than 50 hours of Spanish study (e.g. a lower Intermediate course). They should be able to speak Spanish in everyday situations and in some unexpected scenarios and have some awareness of the different verb tenses.
What will I learn?
In this course, the students will practice how to speak about habits, describe the ideal candidate for different jobs, they will continue practising the uses of the different past tenses, comparing the past and the present, and making plans for the future.
They will explore the cultural differences in the Hispanic world, understanding prohibition, talking about special moments, understanding phone conversations, speaking about media and topics on the news. Students will be able to speak about relationships and show interest or disagreement. At the end of the course, the students will speak Spanish with more confidence and increase their awareness about the Hispanic world.
Study, Assessment and Qualifications
Assessment is informal, based on your personal targets and the learning outcomes and will be undertaken regularly with you by the course tutor. There will be some simple writing work, and a short presentation. It is recommended to complete some homework.
Entry Requirements
There are no entry requirements associated with this course. It is recommended that the student have studied some Spanish and wish to expand their knowledge and be able to learn more complex grammar structures.
Additional Costs and Information
There are no additional course costs. Your lecturer would recommend a course book.
You should bring with you: a Spanish dictionary and a notebook.
