What will I learn?


The following topics will be covered:

Be able to promote health and safety and industry good practice
Be able to fell trees and process trees over 380mm
Understand relevant health and safety legislation and industry good practice
Understand how to fell and process trees over 380mm
Understand how to remove branches from felled trees using a chainsaw
Understand how to take down hung up trees

Entry Requirements


You must have achieved NPTC Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross Cutting (CS30 or 2003) and Felling and Processing Trees up to 380mm (CS31or 2004). Please do not book onto this course unless you have already completed this qualification.

Study, Assessment and Qualifications


Assessment will be through observation of your practical skills and question and answer sessions.

The purpose of the NPTC assessment is to prove occupational competence; further charges apply if re-assessment is required.

The assessment takes place on a separate day. Subject to assessor availability, this is typically within seven days of the training.

Additional Costs and Information


You will need your own transport as the course takes place at Lackham for half of the first day and is then at an alternative site for the rest of the course duration.

You will need to bring the following items of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the training and assessment:

Chainsaw protection trousers
Chainsaw protection boots
Chainsaw protection gloves
Chainsaw safety helmet (in date)

These must comply with current BS EN Standards. Please contact us if this is not available to you.
