Course Overview
Understanding how to support good mental health is as importance as ever as 1 in 4 people in England will experience a mental health problem of some kind each year. Poor mental health in children is a growing concerned as 1 in 6 children will experience a mental health problem of some kind. This short course will explain the key issues surrounding mental health in the early years and assess how adverse childhood experiences can affect children's future mental health.
What will I learn?
- Develop strategies and activities to support mental health and wellbeing.
- Develop an understanding about the relationship between physical and mental health.
- Understand the significance of mental health in the early years for a child's future life chances and outcomes.
Study, Assessment and Qualifications
You will be assessed through ongoing coursework throughout the 8-week program.
Entry Requirements
Learners must be aged 19 years or over.
Must have lived in the UK or EAA for the last three years.
Must currently reside in England, in a post code outside of London, the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, the West Midlands Combined Authority, the Tees Valley Combined Authority, the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority, the Newcastle Upon Tyne, North Tyneside and Northumberland Combined Authority, the Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield Combined Authority and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
