Course Overview

Students are trained by professional artists within our partner organisation, Wiltshire Creative. Wiltshire Creative comprises the combined vision, creative energy and ambition of Salisbury Arts Centre, Salisbury International Arts Festival and Salisbury Playhouse.Students spend time at the Salisbury Arts Centre and the Salisbury Playhouse with further sessions taking place in the well-equipped campus Performing Arts Studio. There is an opportunity to take a performing or production pathway.

What will I learn?

The level 2 qualification includes fundamental skills from a number of vocational areas such as the technical specifications of recording equipment, how to conduct a studio capture session, software editing, production techniques, performance skills, software programming and composition.

Typical projects may involve managing a student-based Record Label, organising and performing in live music events, producing an EP of electronic music, scoring a game or film sequence, or taking part in live music competitions, such as, Riverbank Studios – Take the Stage.

Entry Requirements

- 4?GCSEs at Grade 3 / D including English Language and?Maths (or equivalent).
?- A successful interview.

Study, Assessment and Qualifications

- There are no formal exams.
- Assessments are based on the development of practical coursework and portfolio materials.
