Course Overview
Whether you want to be a producer, composer, performing artist, or sound engineer, the music courses at Wiltshire College & University Centre develop the necessary skills, knowledge, and techniques to progress in your chosen area of the music industry.The courses are not solely designed for traditional musicians; sound engineers, DJs, rappers, electronic music producers, game audio producers, and event organisers are all welcomed as this bespoke qualification offers the opportunity to specialise in aspects of music technology, music composition, music performance, and music business.The Level 2 qualification is a Diploma in Music Production and Performance. It is a one-year, full-time, course, suited for people aged 16-18 and mature students wishing to gain vocational experience or progress to a level 3 music course.You will take part in collaborative and individual project work, taking on typical industry roles and completing a work experience portfolio with employers as part of your study programme.
What will I learn?
The level 2 qualification includes learning introductory skills from a number of vocational areas, such as, music production, music business, music technology, and music performance, with an opportunity to focus on a specialist subject in assignments. The units include subjects, such as,

· Studio recording
· Mixing and mastering
· Software editing techniques
· Production techniques (sampling and sequencing)

Entry Requirements
4 GCSEs at Grade 3 / D including English Language and Maths (or equivalent).
A successful interview.
Study, Assessment and Qualifications
There are no formal exams.
Assessments are based on the development of practical coursework and portfolio materials.
