For a career as a designer, you will need to be both technically skilled and a creative thinker. The Level 2 Design Apprenticeship will start you on your journey to gain these necessary skills and knowledge. Every industry requires designers; roles in design can include graphics, multimedia, fashion and textiles, interiors, architecture, or even tattooing. Our Design Apprenticeships are delivered to you in the workplace giving you the opportunity to be trained by your employer in your chosen specialism. In addition, you will increase your understanding and research skills with assignments set by your assessor.
What will I learn?
Competence: Aim Awards Level 2 NVQ in Design Support
The NVQ ‘work competency’ element requires you to gather evidence as you work which you present to your assessor in the workplace and by digital submission.
Knowledge: Aim Awards Level 2 Certificate in Design
Alongside your job role, you will also work for a Certificate in Design. Apprentices use part of their 20% ‘off the job’ time to fulfil three assignment coursework briefs over the course of the 12-18-month apprenticeship.
- Level 1 Functional Skills, in Maths, English and ICT.
- All applicants need to complete an initial assessment in Maths, English and ICT.
Study, Assessment and Qualifications
- The Level 2 Design Apprenticeship.
- Requires a commitment from your employer that at least 20% of your working week should be spent in meaningful training, learning new skills and acquiring knowledge relevant to your apprenticeship.
