Course Overview

This qualification has been designed for those candidates who are already employed in the industry and who want to complete a nationally recognised qualification in the Bricklaying trade.The course will equip you with basic trade skills and knowledge, as well as giving an overview of the construction industry as a whole.

What will I learn?

This course is designed to develop your bricklaying skills and knowledge to enable you to work in the construction industry. It is specifically designed to be delivered in a training environment using simulated conditions. You will work towards and complete the following units as part of the Level 2 Diploma in Bricklaying: Carry out safe working practices Information, quantities and communicating with others Building methods and construction technology Interpret working drawings to set out masonry structures Thin joint masonry and masonry cladding Build solid walling, isolated and attached piers Build cavity walling forming masonry structures In addition you will also have an opportunity to work towards a Functional Skills qualification in maths and English at Level 2.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

Study, Assessment and Qualifications

You will be assessed by carrying out 3 practical tasks when you and your assessor agree you are ready. You will also complete an online test at the end of each unit. Home study would be extremely beneficial in order to achieve your targets.

Additional Costs and Information

All tools and materials will be provided although you will need to provide safety footwear and some stationery.
