Course Overview
This Level 1 qualification provides learners with a range of Groundworking skills and knowledge. Learners will also develop an understanding of the Health and Safety requirements for working in the construction industry.
What will I learn?
The learner will cover knowledge in three mandatory core subject areas:
- Health, safety, and welfare.
- Technical information, quantities, and communication.
- Construction technology.
The Learner will also learn key practical skills and knowledge in the following:
- Cut construction related materials.
- Lay modular paving.
- Lay and finish concrete.
Study, Assessment and Qualifications
Learners must successfully complete practical assessments to achieve the Skills for Groundworking units -
- Cut construction related materials.
- Lay modular paving.
- Lay and finish concrete.
Learners will be required to complete a unit knowledge test for the following units:
- Health, safety, and welfare.
- Technical information, quantities, and communication.
- Construction technology
- Cut construction related materials.
Entry Requirements
Usual entry requirements are 4 GCSEs at grade 1 or 2 or equivalent experience, but entry is determined on an individualised basis and subject to an interview.
Additional Costs and Information
You will need to provide your own safety footwear, suitable work clothes and stationery.
