If you’re interested in working in the motor industry, this course will provide you with the knowledge of how to identify electric vehicles (EVs) and health and safety when working on EVs .You will be taught the practical aspects of the course in the College’s industry-standard workshops and technical classrooms. This will improve your skills and enhancing your employability. The course requires you to spend one day at the College.
What will I learn?
You will gain the basic understanding, knowledge, and practical skills you will need to work on electric vehicles to make these vehicles safe and understand the type of electric vehicles in circulation.
The units you will study include:
• Health and safety around electric vehicles.
• How to identify different types of electric vehicles.
Study, Assessment and Qualifications
You will be assessed through a combination of practical assignments in the workshop and knowledge-based units by taking one online exam.
The course is accredited by the Institute of Motor Industries (IMI). On successful completion of this course, you will achieve an IMI Level 1 Award in Electric vehicle.
Entry requirements are determined on an individualised basis and a knowledge of motor vehicles is recommended.
