Key course information
Construction and Trades
Apply for this course
The construction industry is one of the largest and broadest to work in, employing around 7% of the UKs workforce, and there is always a demand for skilled professionals. An apprenticeship in construction is a form of vocational training where you will follow an NOCN approved standard to develop skills and knowledge and then demonstrate and evidence your application in a construction environment. Groundworkers need to have a good eye for detail, as well as good maths skills.

Study, Assessment and Qualifications
The duration of a Level 2 Groundworks apprenticeship is 18 months and you will be required to attend college for 1 day per week during term. At the end of the apprenticeship you will be required to complete an end point assessment or EPA which will test your knowledge and skills and will be assessed by an independent external assessor.
Additional Costs and Information
Your competence ability will be assessed in the workplace using evidence to build a portfolio. The knowledge element is delivered at our Trowbridge and Salisbury Campuses. The EPA will be delivered in college.
If required, Functional Skills will also be delivered as part of the apprenticeship program. A mixture of on and off the job training provides a variety of learning opportunities across the whole program.
