Course Overview
The Higher Development Award (HDA) is a personal development programme that enables Clinical and Non-Clinical Support Workers from all sectors to “Be the best and acknowledge potential”. The Higher Development Award provides experienced employees from all health and social care settings with the opportunity to develop core knowledge, skills, behaviours and values required to progress and practice safely. You will have the opportunity to work alongside others within the sector, enhancing your understanding of how your role links to the multidisciplinary team and meets the needs of your organisation and the wider sector. You will develop your maths, English and digital skills and participate in a Workplace Improvement Project.

Study, Assessment and Qualifications
Assessment is via portfolio based assessment.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements, but you do need to be employed or due to be employed in the Health or Social Care sector. There are different levels of study available dependent on your prior experience.
Additional Costs and Information
- Qualifications; Numeracy and Literacy, Digital Skills, Team Leading (L2), Leadership and Management (L3)
- All Level 1 and 2 qualifications are fully funded - cost for Level 3 (£724 - covered by employer)
- Functional Skills/Digital etc., are roll on/roll off - can be completed alongside/before/after
