Course Overview

Do you need to complete your training to gain recognition as a fully qualified electrician? Do you need to gain a JIB or ECS card for your employment? Have you completed part of your training towards this goal at college? This course is designed for those who have completed their Level 3 college based qualifications in Electrical Installation and will allow you to complete your training through on-site assessments and complete a NVQ portfolio. Once completed you will be able to apply for you JIB or ECS electrician graded card.

What will I learn?

This is a site-based qualification where you will put into practice all the knowledge you have gained by completing you Level 3 Diploma at college. You will work with your employer to gather relevant evidence of the daily work you are completing installing and maintaining electrical systems. You will develop and improve your installation practical skills, inspection & testing procedures and fault diagnosis work. You will need to be working with an electrical company which covers a range of work from three-phase installations to single phase installations including a full range of installation methods.

Entry Requirements

- Level 2 and Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation.
- Interview to ensure you have the appropriate knowledge and opportunities to complete the award.
- Continued employment with an electrical company, covering a range of work.

Study, Assessment and Qualifications

- City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment.
- On-site assessments, gathering evidence for a portfolio of work, AM2 external practical assessment.

Additional Costs and Information

You won’t require any additional materials as it is site-based. You will be allowed the option of taking a pre-AM2 training at an additional cost.
