Course Overview

This course is designed for practising electricians, contractors and those requiring a working knowledge of the latest edition of BS7671: IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition).

What will I learn?

This is a three day course providing in-depth training on the 18th Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations and the opportunity to fully discuss all aspects with the tutor and other candidates to develop a comprehensive working knowledge and application of these new regulations.The course will also includes the 2 hour City & Guilds Exam to gain the 18th Edition Certificate.

Study, Assessment and Qualifications

This is run as a three day course at the College Campus, running from 9:00 - 4:30. It will be assessed by a 2 hour multiple-choice exam which is carried out on the third day of attendance. This exam is open book and you are allowed to reference BS7671:18th Edition Wiring Regulations during the exam. On successful completion of the exam you will achieve the City & Guilds Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671:2018.

Entry Requirements

A working knowledge of electrical installations and the electrical industry. Please call to discuss if you are unsure whether this course is suitable for you.

Additional Costs and Information

Students are required to bring a calculator which must have square and square root functions. The calculator on a mobile phones is NOT acceptable as you will be required to use the calculator within the exam. Students are also required to bring a copy of the 18th Edition publication BS 7671 to use on the course, which is available directly from the IET, Stevenage (Tel: 01438 313311), or available from leading bookshops. The course cost covers the course delivery, registration with C&G and exam fees. If you are unsuccessful with the exam we can arrange a re-sit for the exam for an additional cost.
