Students at Wiltshire College & University Centre will showcase their artistic talents when the end-of-year Creative Arts Exhibition returns in June.

The annual event is open to the public and free to attend, and will see students from across WCUC’s large and diverse Creative Arts, Media and Performance faculty proudly showcase items from their portfolios at the Chippenham, Salisbury and Trowbridge campuses.

The exhibition will feature a broad range of work created in various mediums, including paint, graphite, photography, film, embroidery, textiles, music and much more. Each campus will launch with a private showing before opening to the public.

Owain Milford, Head of Faculty – Creative Arts, Media & Performance at WCUC, said: “The students from across our wide range of Creative Arts courses are all extremely talented and its wonderful to be able to exhibit some of the work they have worked tirelessly on over the course of the last academic year.

“Being able to showcase work to the public is an important aspect of an artists’ development, no matter what their field of interest is, so the experience and feedback they will garner from the exhibition will be invaluable as they continue their artistic growth.

“Exhibits will include pieces from a range of areas, including art across a variety of mediums, photography and film, games, fashion, music and performance, so there really is something for everyone. The event is already taking shape and I know students are excited to be able to display their work and share their experiences with family, friends, local experts and the general public.”

Mia Prangley studies Level 3 Art & Design at Chippenham and will be one of more than 100 students taking part in the exhibition at the campus. She said: “I want to be a fashion designer in the future but I chose to study art as I thought it would be really helpful to know more about general art techniques.

“I try to use fashion ideas in whatever I create, even if it isn’t working with textiles. I did GCSEs at school but it didn’t really explore all of the things I want to know so I thought college would be better as a next step. It’s definitely been a really good choice.”

The event will close with a private fashion show at Emmanuel's Yard in Trowbridge, which will showcase all final projects created by Fashion & Textiles students across all levels, and will involve more than 70 students working in various roles such as stage management, filming, music and wardrobe.

The on-campus public exhibition dates are:

Trowbridge campus: 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th June (all 10am-4pm)

Chippenham campus: 19th, 20th, 21st, 24th, 25th June (all 10am-2pm)

Salisbury campus: 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th June (all 10am-4pm)
