Our Catering and Hospitality courses are taught in training kitchens featuring industry-standard equipment. Here, you will develop the knowledge and skills needed to succeed under the supervision of our team of professional chefs with years of industry experience.
The sector is fast-paced and demanding, with various career paths available at establishments including hotels, restaurants and bars. Roles range from front-of-house supervisor to head chef, and a career can take you all over the world.
Our Salisbury and Trowbridge campuses have restaurants open to the public, and you will learn how to prepare, cook and serve delicious, nutritious meals while maintaining rigorous hygiene standards. You will also gain experience in roles requiring customer service and professionalism.
The department has strong partnerships with industry chefs who support learners with masterclasses, visits and work experience opportunities. We work in partnership with distinguished venues, including Bowood House, Bishopstrow House and The Manor House at Castle Combe, and industry trips are an important part of each course to enhance your knowledge and promote career opportunities.
Previous students have successfully progressed on to apprenticeships or employment in roles such as Professional Chef, Patisserie Chef, Hotel and Event Management, Bar Manager and Events Caterers.
