Supporting your journey

We are dedicated to ensuring students have a positive college experience and recognises that there may be times when support and assistance are needed for academic or personal issues. On offer is a variety of services to support students, including Personal Social Development Tutors, wellbeing advisors, counselling, and safeguarding. For more information on any of these services, please email: safe@wiltshire.ac.uk.

Wellbeing

Your wellbeing is important to us, and being happy, healthy and safe are all important to help you have a positive college experience. We do understand that you may not always feel this way, and if something does go wrong, we are here to support you.

Personal Social Development (PSD)

Students will receive one hour of dedicated PSD time per week, focusing on preparing them for their next steps in life. These sessions focus on life skills, health and wellbeing, and generally giving our young people the tools they need to thrive beyond college.

We are career ready

Students have access to high-quality information about future study options and labour market trends. The college provides tailored advice and support to meet each student’s needs. The careers programme facilitates the achievement of career goals by organising face-to-face interactions, including university visits (both external and internal), university fairs, apprenticeships and careers fairs, and guest speaker events.

Work experience and industry placements

We support faculties and areas of learning by facilitating students’ work experience and industry placements, ensuring students gain practical experience and valuable insights into their chosen fields.

Enrichment

Our student engagement teams organise a series of events, including fundraising activities, guest speaker sessions, and pop-up events, to promote a safe and respectful culture within the college.

These initiatives raise awareness of important community issues such as substance misuse, sexual exploitation, equality and diversity, online safety, healthy relationships, and the dangers of radicalisation and extremism.

Equality, diversity & inclusion

Equality and diversity are at the heart of everything we do at the College. We strive to create an environment where everyone can be themselves without fear of discrimination or harassment, and where they are supported to achieve their fullest potential. This commitment extends not only to our staff and students but also to anyone who interacts with the College. For more information, please download our Equality and Diversity policy below.
