Skills Bootcamps
Skills Bootcamps are flexible training programmes lasting up 12 weeks, designed to help adults gain in-demand skills.
They provide pathways to better jobs and career progression across various sectors, including Leadership & Management, Cyber Security and green skills.
Learners will benefit from course content that is developed with employers to ensure all aspects of the training is industry-relevant, with a guaranteed job interview on completion of the course.
Am I eligible for a Skills Bootcamp?
Skills Bootcamps are open to adults aged 19 or over, employed, self-employed, or unemployed and seeking to upskill or reskill. No formal qualifications are required, but some bootcamps may specify basic skills or industry experience. Applicants must be committed to completing the course and securing employment.
Bootcamps are free for learners. If a learner is employed there is a cost to the employer of £180 for small to medium enterprises (up to 250 employees) and £540 for larger businesses (250+ employees).
What will I learn?
- Learners on Skills Bootcamps will gain industry-specific skills tailored to in-demand sectors. Training includes practical, hands-on experience, technical knowledge and soft skills such as communication and teamwork. Participants will also develop job-specific competencies, making them more competitive in the job market.
- Skills Bootcamps typically involve practical, hands-on learning with a focus on real-world job skills. While formal qualifications are not always awarded, learners may complete assessments through projects, tasks, or industry-specific evaluations. In some cases, bootcamps offer industry-recognised certifications or qualifications that align with the job roles or sectors being targeted. Completion leads to a job interview or pathway into employment.
- After completing a Skills Bootcamp, learners are supported in applying for job roles related to their newly acquired skills, take advantage of guaranteed job interviews, or pursue further training or qualifications to advance their careers. They may also use their skills to seek promotion or transition into new industries or roles.
