Pre-16 (1-Day A Week) Vocational Courses
Offers
Our Pre-16 vocational courses are aimed at students that have an interest in one or two subject areas and require motivation to complete their GCSEs at School. They provide an opportunity for students to try out a vocational subject before choosing a careers pathway post-16, during their time with us they will work towards an Entry Level Qualification. Our courses provide a meaningful transition for students who are likely to study in a college environment post-16.
WCUC’s pre-16 provision is available for young people in Year 10 and Year 11 who are enrolled with a School and apply on their behalf. Currently, we do not accept direct applications from parents/ carers or from students who are home educated.
The pre-16 college day is from 9am-2pm.
Courses available are:
- Hair and Beauty
- Land-Based Studies (comprising of Agriculture, Animal Care and Countryside & Wildlife Management
- Sport and Public Services
- Vehicle Maintenance
During the application process schools will meet with a member of the Pre-16 team to discuss the student in more depth and facilitate effective information sharing.
All students will be interviewed by Curriculum during a College Experience Session. This is to ensure that they have an interest in the subjects they are undertaking and are ready to learn in a post-16 college environment.
