WILTSHIRE College & University Centre has partnered with Chippenham-based company Luthmore to deliver hands-on training for installers at its Lackham campus, helping to develop the skills needed for the future of low-carbon heating.
The partnership will see Luthmore establish a dedicated training presence within the College’s Green Skills Innovation Centre, giving both industry professionals and, in time, students access to innovative heating technology in a real-world learning environment.
Luthmore is the company behind Luthmore One, a battery-enabled, zero-emission boiler designed to provide heating and hot water without the carbon footprint of traditional systems.
The collaboration comes in response to growing demand for the technology, with the first training sessions already fully booked, highlighting strong demand from installers across the region to upskill on emerging technologies.
Hervé Dehareng, CEO of Luthmore, said: “Demand for skilled installers is growing rapidly as the market evolves. Through this partnership, we are equipping installers with the expertise they need to work with new technologies, while also creating opportunities for them to grow their businesses and access new work.”

Initially, the programme will focus on qualified installers, offering small-group training in installation, commissioning and fault finding.
Training will take place within the College’s Green Skills Innovation Centre, which opened earlier this year to support the growing demand for sustainable construction and low-carbon technology skills.
The centre provides learners and employers with access to specialist facilities and practical training environments designed to reflect the needs of industry.
Adam Bladwell, Commercial Manager at Wiltshire College & University Centre, said: “This partnership strengthens our commitment to delivering practical, industry-led training. By working with Luthmore, we are providing access to real systems in real environments that will help learners and professionals build confidence and develop the skills needed for the future.”
While the training is initially aimed at qualified installers, the partnership is expected to create opportunities for greater integration with College courses in the future, helping students gain insight into emerging technologies and the changing needs of industry.
Working alongside local employers is a key part of the College’s approach, ensuring its training reflects the skills businesses need now and in the future.
Adam added: “Working closely with local employers is essential to ensuring our training reflects the needs of industry and creates opportunities for both current and future students.”
The partnership was supported by Sarah Gibson MP for Chippenham, who helped bring Luthmore and Wiltshire College & University Centre together.
Sarah said: “I am delighted to have helped bring Luthmore and Wiltshire College together for this important partnership, which will give local installers the hands-on skills they need to work with the next generation of low-carbon heating technology.
“This collaboration shows how local industry and education providers can work together to create skilled jobs, support businesses and put Wiltshire at the forefront of the green economy.”

About Luthmore
Luthmore is a Chippenham-based clean technology company developing low-carbon heating solutions for homes across the UK.
Its flagship product, Luthmore One, is a battery-enabled electric boiler designed to deliver heating and hot water performance comparable to traditional gas systems while helping households reduce their carbon emissions.
Designed and manufactured in the UK, the technology supports the transition to cleaner energy by enabling homeowners to make greater use of renewable electricity and off-peak energy tariffs.
As demand for low-carbon heating grows, Luthmore is investing in installer training and partnerships to help build the skilled workforce needed to support the UK’s journey towards net zero.
Luthmore will showcase its technology and training initiatives at the NEC in Birmingham next week, where the team will be meeting industry professionals and demonstrating how low-carbon heating solutions can support the transition to cleaner energy.
