Students Living in Wiltshire

If you live in Wiltshire, and are under 19 and live more than 3 miles from the College campus you will attend, you can apply for a subsidised travel pass from Wiltshire Council, as long as the college is your nearest provider of the course.

The cost of the pass for 17/18 is £675 for the year or £200 if your gross household income for 16/17 is less than £20,819. Passes are for travel to and from the college only and are for use Monday to Friday, term time only.

A Post 16 Transport Application is available to download from Wiltshire Council at www.wiltshire.gov.uk/schoolseducationandlearning/schoolsandcolleges/schoolstransport/transporttosixthformsandcolleges.htm/ Alternatively, you can pick up a copy from Student Services at your designated campus or contact Wiltshire Council on 0300 4560100 to post you a copy.

Bus passes last for one academic year only and you can APPLY NOW. Please ensure you return the application form to Wiltshire Council by 30th June, particularly if you wish to pay by instalments. Late applications are considered,but may mean your pass is not available for the start of term.

 

Students living in Devizes

You will need to purchase your Wiltshire Council bus pass through the College. Please download the Devizes to Chippenham transport application form here and return it to Student Services Chippenham campus with payment as soon as you can.

 

Students living in Calne, Lyneham, Royal Wootton Bassett or Swindon

Students living in Corsham, Box, Batheaston and Bath

FE Students who are not eligible for any of the above passes and who are travelling from other locations

If you are not eligible for the above bus passes and are coming by train or other method of transport,please download a College Public Transport Award form here and you will be given a cash award to help with your travel costs.

All students who apply and are eligible for a bursary, will automatically be assessed for transport help and may receive some funding towards the above transport costs. You will be notified of any award made.

Students travelling to Lackham who live in Swindon, Bath, Somerset and North East Somerset should download a Wiltshire College Lackham transport application here and return it to Student Services Lackham with payment as soon as possible.

Alternative bus pass options

Salisbury Reds offer a Young Person’s network ticket which is currently £20 per week or £74 per month and these network tickets can be purchased either from the bus driver or from the Salisbury Reds shop in Salisbury – further information is available at -  https://www.salisburyreds.co.uk/tickets-2017/young-people-and-students/

Alternatively Go Southcoast offer a Wiltshire College pass to students which can be purchased online. The termly cost is dependent on whether you are travelling from Wiltshire, Dorset or Hampshire and for a small supplement you can upgrade the pass to unlimited travel on the network.  Further information and online ordering is available on http://passes.gosouthcoast.co.uk/

 

FE Students travelling from Hampshire or Dorset with a household income under £25,000

If you are travelling by bus, you will need to apply to the college bursary fund and download and apply for a College Go SouthCoast pass here.   

If you are not eligible for the above bus passes and are coming by train or other method of transport, you can download a College Public Transport Award here and you will be given a cash award to help with your travel costs.

Students travelling from Bath

Students will need to download the First bus app and college tickets will be available to purchase one month before the start of each term.

Students travelling from Somerset

A County Ticket is available from Somerset County Council. The pass is called a ‘Love the Bus’ smartcard and the cost of the pass for 2017/18 is £675. You can apply and pay in full online by credit/debit card, or in full by cheque or spread the cost in 10 equal payments by Direct Debit if you have applied by 7th August.
