Course Overview

The Mental Health T Level is a specialist pathway designed to provide the skills for careers in mental health support. It combines classroom learning with significant industry placement, working with patients and health professionals to develop knowledge and skills. Within this course you will learn about caring for individuals with mental health needs, therapeutic interventions and promoting mental wellbeing. You will cover core skills and best practices within healthcare and gain an understanding of the NHS.

T Levels are based on the same standards as apprenticeships, designed by employers and approved by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education. We expect the total time for a T Level to be around 1,800 hours over the 2 years, including the industry placement.

The T Level course includes compulsory elements, and the technical qualification will include core theory, concepts and skills for the industry area and specialist skills and knowledge for an occupation in Mental Health, including industry placement with an employer.
