Course Overview

The Digital Support Technician apprenticeship will provide teaching towards the knowledge, skills and behaviours of the apprenticeship standard. Apprentices will then work towards an end-point assessment with an independent end-point assessor from City and Guilds. Apprentices will also have the chance to gain industry recognised technical certifications.

More information

During this apprenticeship you’ll help to devise digital productivity solutions and roll them out in the organisation. You’ll become a digital champion, training and supporting colleagues to make the best use of digital tools and diagnose problems. You’ll assist with digital operations and digital change projects. You will also provide internal end-user application support allowing the colleagues you’re supporting to use systems with confidence.
Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to completion of their apprenticeship.
You’ll complete a portfolio of work-based assessments, projects and presentations in preparation for your End Point Assessment, alongside technical exams for knowledge. You’ll also complete a synoptic project, which you’ll present at EPA, along with a professional discussion based on your portfolio.
– Delivered in the workplace and/or remotely, with a visit from your tutor every 4-6 weeks.
– There is no WCUC attendance for this apprenticeship.
– You’ll need to record a minimum of 6 hours per week ‘off-the-job’ training time. This can include college attendance, work shadowing, training, workshops, online learning, tutor sessions, revision, webinars, industry visits – anything that supports your learning on the apprenticeship.
