Develop your understanding of sports media and learn how engaging content can strengthen a sports brand and grow social media audiences. Delivered at our Trowbridge campus, this practical course offers hands-on experience of covering live sport and creating content tailored for digital platforms.

You’ll gain first-hand experience reporting on a live football match, learn how to create accurate and engaging social media coverage, and explore how headlines and articles can be optimised for online audiences without relying on clickbait.
This five-week Introduction to Sports Media course is designed to give you an insight into the fast-paced world of sports journalism and digital sports communications. You’ll learn the fundamentals of reporting on sporting events, interviewing techniques, writing for different audiences, and managing content across social media platforms.

As part of the course, you’ll have the opportunity to report live from a Bath City Women’s fixture using Bath City FC’s official social media channels. You’ll also explore how clubs promote matches online, engage supporters, and maintain a consistent tone of voice across platforms.
