Course Overview

This course is perfect for learners who have already completed the French Intermediate and French Year 3 course or have a good grounding in basic French and would like to progress and further develop their confidence, skills and knowledge. Come and join this friendly class for an opportunity to deepen your French grammar and to be able to sustain a good conversation in French. The course will focus on a good range of more complex grammar French expression and structure, over a number of topics

What will I learn?

On completion you should be able to sustain any conversation in French whatever the topic, having a debate, sharing ideas, talk about past events, asking questions.

We will cover verbs and tenses: recap on basic + subjunctive and Compound Tenses. Understand the nuances between them. Explore more intricate sentence structures, such as subordinate clauses, participial phrases, and relative clauses and also passive forms.

There are no entry requirements associated with this course other than to have the appropriate level of French knowledge.

Study, Assessment and Qualifications

Assessment is informal, based on your personal targets and the learning outcomes and will be undertaken regularly with you by the course tutor.

The tutor may ask you to buy a course book, which will be discussed in the first session.
