Course Overview

This course is a progression from our popular Flower School Beginners course in floristry.

We will explore more advanced floral designs and techniques to support your style and creativity. Working on larger scale design and bespoke bridal work.

This course will help to look at how we can progress your floral career, exploring marketing and social media to enhance your business.

Elements of floral design (recap)
Principles of floral design – balance, contrast, dominance, harmony, proportion, rhythm, scale
Learning plant science, photosynthesis, respiration, transpiration and osmosis
Learning a further range of flower and foliage for identification

Practical topics:
– Hand tie design
– Bridal hand tie
– Buttonholes
– Long and low table arrangement into foam
– Asymmetrical hand tie
– Large pedestal arrangement
Progression from Flower School – Beginners course is suggested to ensure that you have learnt the necessary skills to get the most from this course.
Learners who are funded and therefore are attending the course at no charge will be provided with flowers as part of the course.

Learners who have paid for the course will have two options:

– Provide their own flowers (a list of flowers required each week will be given to you by the tutor)
– Purchase the flowers in advance from the College Shop (the link to the shop will be sent prior to the start of the course)

Please note that the approximate cost of flowers to make the arrangements will be:

– Week one £30
– Week two £40
– Week three £15
– Week four £45
– Week five £50
– Week six £45

You may be asked to bring sundries such as a vase etc when necessary.

This course is run at our Salisbury campus, dates and times are below:
12.05.26 -30.06.26, Tuesdays at 18:30-21:00 (two week half term break)

This course is run at our Trowbridge campus, dates and times are below:
11.05.26 – 29.06.26, Mondays at 18:30-21:00 (two week half term break)
