Course Overview

If you love flowers and want to learn more, together with gaining new skills in the floral world, this course is ideal.

You may have some experience in the world of flowers, or just want to learn a few tips and tricks of the industry. The course is relaxed and informal with sessions designed to help grow your knowledge and gain confidence in your floral new skills.

Learning how to create a simple hand tie for a gift, or to make an arrangement for the home or a special occasion. You will work though easy to create designs, understanding the theory behind the design and learn a few fun facts on flowers and foliage.

– Elements of floral design – texture, line, space, colour and form
– Learn a range of flower identifications

Practical:
– Table posy
– Hand tie bouquet
– Line arrangement
– Compact hand tie
– Front facing arrangement
– Arrangement into chicken wire
There are no entry requirements associated with this course.
Assessment is informal, based on your personal targets and the learning outcomes and will be undertaken regularly with you by the course tutor.
Learners who are funded and therefore are attending the course at no charge will be provided with flowers as part of the course.

Learners who have paid for the course will have two options:
– Provide their own flowers (a list of flowers required each week will be given to you by the tutor)
– Purchase the flowers in advance from the College Shop (the link to the shop will be sent prior to the start of the course)

Please note that the approximate cost of flowers to make the arrangements will be:
– Week one £25
– Week two £30
– Week three £20
– Week four £30
– Week five £30
– Week six £30

You may be asked to bring sundries such as a vase etc when necessary.

Each week please bring with you: scissors/knife and a bucket.

08.10.25 – 19.11.25, Tuesdays at 18:30-21:00
04.02.26 – 01.04.26, Tuesdays at 18:30-21:00

This course is run at our Trowbridge campus, dates and times are below:
07.10-25 – 18.11.25, Mondays at 18:30-21:00
03.02.26 – 31.03.26, Mondays at 18:30-21:00

Free fundable programme for aged 19+ who are in receipt of benefit or on a low wage income and must have lived in the UK for the last three years. You must currently reside in England. Should you need any additional information before applying please do contact us on busdev@wiltshire.ac.uk.
