Construction students to benefit from community grant

The Construction & Built Environment department at Wiltshire College & University Centre’s Chippenham campus have received a generous funding grant to support the delivery of essential training.

Chippenham Borough Lands Charity (CBLC) have donated £1,285 to purchase Disk Saw Training Packs for use by bricklaying apprentices at the campus.

Dave Cable, Lecturer in Bricklaying at WCUC’s Chippenham campus, said: “We’re delighted to receive this funding and grateful to Chippenham Borough Lands Charity for their support.

“This funding will make a huge difference to the progression of a wide range of learners at the college, and particularly help our apprentices develop the vital skills they need to enter the bricklaying trade.”

CBLC is a place-based, grant making charity with the aim of helping the people of Chippenham. The charity supports local individuals and organisations in welfare, education, arts and community projects.

Bricklaying courses are amongst a wide range of courses in construction and trade industries offered at WCUC’s Chippenham, Salisbury and Trowbridge campuses. To find out more, click here.
