Art and Media
The Trowbridge campus is home to a fantastic range of creative arts programmes, from Art and Design to Games Development, and from Film and Media to Performing Arts. Delivered by experienced, specialist tutors, our courses are a great introduction to the creative industries and are all located in industry standard workshops, classrooms and studios.
Our media division is home to a dedicated Mac Suite, a chroma key (green screen) production studio and specialist games development suites with all the latest equipment at your fingertips. Art and Design students enjoy a number of workshop facilities including a range of studios, a dark room facility and 3d workshop, print screen workshop and fashion and textiles studio, as well as the opportunity to use computer rooms with access to a range of creative software. Students on the Foundation Art and Design programme have access to a specialist facility in their own building, which includes light and spacious studios and dedicated individual working spaces.
The new construction facilities at Trowbridge, in their own dedicated building at the rear of the campus, are home to trades including plumbing and gas, carpentry and joinery, bricklaying, plastering, painting and decorating and electrical installation. All delivered by our industry experienced and knowledgeable tutors, students learn in real life training environments, using industry standard equipment.
Catering facilities & The White Horse Restaurant
Catering and hospitality students at Wiltshire College have the opportunity to experience life in the industry right from the start. Training in our professional, industry standard kitchens, students wear chefs whites and learn individually and in teams to prepare them for a fast-paced career in the sector.

Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy Salons
The light, bright and welcoming industry standard Aspire Salons at Wiltshire College are fully equipped with a range of professional equipment and leading brands such as Dermalogica, L’Oréal Professionnel and Crystal Clear, giving students the opportunity to learn in a real salon environment using high-quality products.
Learning from tutors who are not only fully qualified teachers but also have years of industry experience, students develop skills in not only hair, beauty or body treatments but also learn the theory behind all the practical elements and put their skills to the test providing treatments to paying members of the public. The large motor vehicle workshops at the Trowbridge campus are a fantastic place to study if you’re planning to get into the automotive industry. Home to a range of vehicles, from your standard family hatchback or saloon, through to hybrid vehicles and HGVs, students have the opportunity to learn from specialist tutors with industry experience and knowledge, about a wide range of vehicle systems.
As well as the all-important fleet of vehicles, in the workshops students will also find a diverse range of industry-standard equipment and facilities, including hydraulic lifts and ramps, fault finding diagnostic equipment, air conditioning machines, power and hand tools and CAD software.
Learning Resource Centre
The learning resource centre (LRC) at Trowbridge is one of the hearts of the campus, located on the ground floor, just off the reception. Home to a wealth of resources, both printed — such as journals, books and magazines — and digital, accessible on the large bank of free to use computers. The LRC is also where students can access help and support from the friendly LRC team for any queries or questions they may have.
Conferencing and Events
The Trowbridge campus is ideally situated just a short drive from the busy county town of Trowbridge and the A36 and A350 routes through Wiltshire. Our facilities are a great environment to host your meetings, events and conferences, with access to ICT and AV equipment and a range of rooms of varying sizes and layouts to suit your requirements.
Memberships and Accreditations
Construction Industry Training Board (CITB)
CITB is the Industry Training Board and a partner in the Sector Skills Council for the construction industry in England, Scotland and Wales. Its job is to work with industry to encourage training, which helps build a safe, professional and fully qualified workforce. Wiltshire College trains CITB apprentices in construction related subjects.
