Castle Combe Campus

Castle Combe is the home of our university level motorsport centre, the UK’s first trackside centre for motorsport engineering where we deliver degrees at an internationally renowned racetrack in the heart of Wiltshire.

The £1.25 million specialist facility provides an industry-standard environment for our students to learn in, enabling them to experience the real-life thrills and pressures of working in the motorsport arena by working on cars that compete on a regular basis.

Why Study at Castle Combe?

Our teaching centre at Castle Combe is the only trackside facility for higher education in motorsport engineering in the country. Studying trackside gives our students a unique opportunity to put their learning into practice on a regular basis. They build, work on and test cars that go out on the track, from rally cars to Formula Fords. Students also network at the track, spending time in the paddock on test and race days talking to race teams and gaining first-hand insights into their futures. Our teaching and technical staff have years of experience working in both racing and rallying, and are able to provide our students with one-to-one, individual support throughout their time at Wiltshire College & University Centre.

I love workshop lessons and transforming the race cars. It’s amazing to know what you started with and then see what ends up on the track as a result of your own work.

Our Facilities

With the most cars of any motorsport teaching centre and industry-standard equipment including a wind tunnel, CAD engineering and 3D printers, our facilities are unparalleled.

The 6,500 square-foot centre includes two classrooms, a seven-car workshop and an engine and a machine workshop, all specially manufactured to deliver our higher education motorsport courses.

Students work on and develop a variety of motorsport vehicles including FF1600s, MG ZR rally cars, and Honda Civics, putting them through their paces in multiple championships including the Castle Combe FF1600 Championship and the Castle Combe Hot Hatch series.
