Course Overview

The construction industry is one of the largest and broadest to work in, employing around 7% of the UKs workforce, and there is always a demand for skilled professionals, whether that’s developing hospitals or housing estates.

Site Carpenters need to have a good eye for detail, strong maths skills and the ability to follow instructions and technical drawings.

The competence element will be assessed in the workplace using evidence to build a portfolio and the knowledge element is delivered at Wiltshire College Trowbridge and Salisbury campuses. You will also take an external practical (EPA) assessment at the end of your apprenticeship to test your knowledge and skills learnt during the 15 months. To assist you during your apprenticeship, you may be required to purchase some equipment and resources to support you during your course.
