Course Overview

If you’re interested in learning how modern businesses operate, what it takes to build a successful business and the part you can play in that success, this course could be a great introduction to your future career. You will find out about marketing and promotions, finance, online business, building successful teams, and how different roles operate to support businesses. Whether you ultimately want to find a role within a large business or start your own businesses, this course will help you develop the skills you need and open up a variety of opportunities.

You will develop the many different skills that support businesses, including:

• Brand promotion
• Sales and marketing
• Providing excellent business support and customer service
• Using business documentation
• Impact of online systems in a modern business environment
4 GCSEs at Grade 3 or above, including English Language and Maths, or equivalent.


A successful interview.
An industry placement is a fundamental part of this course and gives you the opportunity to gain valuable skills and experience for your future. You will be supported throughout your placement by our dedicated Work Placement Team.

Having successfully completed the course you will be awarded a BTEC Level 2 First Extended Certificate in Business.
There are no additional costs on this course. However, you may have the opportunity to go on course trips to external organisations which might incur some costs for travel and entry fees.
