More information

The emphasis will be primarily on consolidating previous knowledge and extending vocabulary, structures and fluency. Listening, speaking, reading and writing activities are designed to maximise your confidence and progress.

The course will concentrate on the four language skills with particular focus on speaking and listening and will extend grammar knowledge. Learners will be encouraged to express themselves and give opinions in Italian. The course will include a revision and extension of structures and progress to achieve the use of the imperfect tense.

The topics covered will include:
– Holidays
– My home
– TV and Cinema
– Arranging to go out
– How things used to be
– Various Italian cultural topics
This course is suitable for adult learners who have completed the Italian – Intermediate (Part 1) course at Wiltshire College & University Centre or at a similar establishment.

It is also suitable for those who have previous knowledge of the language and who feel they can cope at a level with the topics and grammar itemised.
Assessment is informal, based on your personal targets and the learning outcomes and will be undertaken regularly with you by the course lecturer. There are no final qualifications associated with this course.
You will be asked to buy a course book, this will be discussed in your first session.

Please also bring an A4 folder, paper and pens.

To get maximum benefit from the course learners should expect to do up to an hour at home each week to reinforce the work covered in class. Your lecturer will advise you on what work to do at home.

This 15 week course runs on one day per week at the Chippenham Campus and the dates are:
