Course Overview

The HND in Esports is designed to develop your abilities in content creation, project management, streaming, event management and coaching, among others. Studying in a purpose-built space on the Trowbridge campus, you’ll gain the high-level digital skills needed to work in the fast-growing Esports ecosystem. These skills can be transferred into other digital contexts such as content creation, streaming, broadcasting, live events production & working within the Video Game sector.

You will be based in the high-spec Tech Trowbridge space which is home to a range of high spec workstations, training rooms, shoutcasting booths and a 100-seat Esports arena. The facility has been built to drive the development of skills in the computing, IT and digital media sectors.

We work in close collaboration with local employers to provide real-world learning opportunities, including live briefs, guest speakers and competitions.

Alternative Entry Routes

Applicants aged 21+ without standard academic qualifications may be considered based on relevant vocational experience and transferable skills. Each application is assessed individually. In some cases, applicants may be asked to attend an interview or complete a written assessment.
The HNC is a Level 4 qualification, equivalent to the first year of a university degree. It is also recognised as a Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ), aligned with employer-developed occupational standards—making it ideal for those seeking a direct route into industry. A second year of study at Level 5 will top up this qualification to HND.
Some trips or external visits may involve additional costs. These will be clearly communicated in advance where applicable.

For more information or to discuss your application, please contact HE Quality Manager nicola.dew@wiltshire.ac.uk who will put you in touch with a member of the course team.
