Course Overview

This is a six-week course which progresses from the Flower School Beginners and Flower School Intermediate courses, building on valuable skills learnt in previous classes.

Practicing skills learnt and adding new techniques, to enhance and give greater depth to floral designs.

Theory topics covering, historical factors in development of floristry, plant anatomy and Elements and Principles of design recap.

Practical topics:
Arrangement into a container
Hand tied into a frame
Parallel design
Wired corsage
Compact posy and Buttonhole
Table arrangement
Assessment is informal, based on your personal targets and learning outcomes and will be undertaken regularly with you by the course tutor.
Learners who are funded and therefore are attending the course at no charge will be provided with flowers as part of the course.

Learners who have paid for the course will have two options:

– Provide their own flowers (a list of flowers required each week will be given to you by the tutor)
– Purchase the flowers in advance from the College Shop (the link to the shop will be sent prior to the start of the course)

Please note that the approximate cost of flowers to make the arrangements will be:

– Week one £45
– Week two £45
– Week three £40
– Week four £15
– Week five £50
– Week six £50

You may be asked to bring sundries such as a vase etc when necessary.

Each week please bring with you: scissors/knife and a bucket.

This course is run at our Trowbridge campus, dates and times are below:
