Course Overview

Engineering design and draughtspersons produce designs and drawings for manufacturing, technical or commercial use. Wiltshire College and University Centre supports training pathways for electrical systems, control and instrumentation systems and mechanical systems/components.

Apprentices will gain an understanding and need to:

• Understand technical drawings and specifications and be able to create their own
• Identify factors likely to affect design decisions
• Produce CAD (computer aided design) models and engineering drawings
• Be able to communicate design information to internal and external parties

To support this Wiltshire College ensures that each apprentice will spend foundation training understanding practical workshop/site activities in order to gain the experience to design effectively.
