This course will help spark your creativity and help you to gain confidence in your artwork though practical activities, looking at other artists’ work and sharing ideas with the group. We will explore together a range of drawing and painting processes and media. This will be inspired by a range of themes, such as still life, landscape, and portraits. You will also have the opportunity to develop your own interests in a range of exciting briefs. Each week we will set goals and celebrate your progress.

What will I learn?
You will engage in a variety of art activities such as:
– Exploring a variety of linear marks to express your emotions
– Developing tonal drawing responses to important objects
– Painting your ideal landscape
– Making a lino cut of your perfect day
– Drawing an expressive self portrait
– Making a self portrait in clay
– Expressing your inner landscape by painting to music
– Creating a mixed media collage vision board of your favourite memories, aspirations and qualities by reflecting on your feelings, hopes and strengths

Entry Requirements
There are no entry requirements associated with this course.
Study, Assessment and Qualifications
Assessment is informal, based on your personal targets and the learning outcomes and will be undertaken regularly with you by the course tutor.
Additional Costs and Information
Please bring an A4 sketchbook plus a HB, 2B and 4B pencil to the first class. The majority of materials will be provided. The tutor will let you know if you need to bring any additional equipment and materials for each session.
