AS THE excitement of this summer’s FIFA World Cup inspires more people to get involved in sport, Wiltshire College & University Centre is helping students develop the skills to encourage participation and create healthier, more active communities.
Delivered at the College’s Lackham campus, the new one-year Higher National Certificate (HTQ) combines practical coaching experience with the scientific principles that underpin sport and exercise performance.
The course equips learners with the knowledge and practical skills needed for careers in coaching, education and sport development, helping them encourage more people to get active.

Embedded within the programme is a professional qualification which will allow learners to start their own coaching practice or even deliver PE in schools.

For those who want to take their studies further, HTQ community coaching is a 120-credit Level 4 qualification which can lead into the coaching pathway of HND Sport Science or a range of other university-level sports qualifications.

The 30-minute event includes an introduction to studying Higher Education at Wiltshire College & University Centre, followed by subject-specific breakout rooms where attendees can speak directly with programme leaders and ask questions about courses, student finance and career opportunities.
