Check travel updates before you leave

Leave earlier than usual
Journeys can take longer when it’s icy. Leaving a bit earlier can help you stay calm and avoid rushing.

Dress for the conditions
Wear warm layers, a coat and shoes with good grip. Trainers with smooth soles can be slippery on ice.

Walk carefully
Use gritted paths where you can, slow down on icy areas and use handrails on steps. It’s better to arrive a few minutes late than risk a fall.

Be extra careful if you’re travelling by car
If you’re getting a lift or driving, make sure seatbelts are worn and that the driver takes extra care on icy roads.

We’ll continue to share updates about campuses and travel through our usual communication channels.

Please travel safely.
