WCUC to celebrate Higher Education students at Graduation Ceremony

Wiltshire College & University Centre (WCUC) will celebrate the achievements of its Higher Education students at a Graduation ceremony in October.

Students who finished university-level courses at WCUC this summer will be honoured at Salisbury Cathedral on Friday 20th October. In total, the achievements of around 250 students across more than 40 different qualifications will be marked on the day.

WCUC offers a wide variety of Higher Education courses across its campuses around the county at Castle Combe, Chippenham, Lackham, Salisbury and Trowbridge, including a number validated by Bournemouth University and Oxford Brookes University.

Representatives from each of the awarding universities and bodies will be present to honour their respective graduands, alongside senior WCUC staff, governors and other guests. Stacey Hunter, Chief Executive of Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust, will be the guest speaker at the ceremony.

WCUC Principal and CEO Iain Hatt said: “Every year Wiltshire College & University Centre is proud to hold a special Graduation ceremony to celebrate the many successes of our Higher Education students. It is always a memorable occasion for our graduates, their families and friends, and all of the staff who have played a part in contributing to their success.

“The achievements being celebrated at Graduation are an important milestone in a young person’s journey as they progress from education into the world of work. The students we will honour on the day can feel justifiably proud of their achievements as they embark on their next steps.”

The day will involve WCUC’s traditional Graduation activities, including the distinctive procession through the city to Salisbury Cathedral ahead of the ceremony. After the ceremony, graduates will have the opportunity to celebrate with family and friends in the picturesque grounds outside the cathedral.

WCUC is grateful to everyone at Salisbury Cathedral and Salisbury Playhouse, without whose support the ceremony would not be able to take place.
