Julia is a successful and dedicated specialist in the field of teacher training and is the Programme Lead on the College’s Further Education and Skills, PCE / PGCE courses.
Julia holds a Masters Degree in Literacy, Numeracy and ESOL achieved at Lancaster University as well as a PGCE in Literacy achieved at the University of Exeter.
Having worked in teacher training for close to 20 years, Julia has led the Further Education and Skills, PCE / PGCE programmes at the College ever since joining our staff in 2015. Prior to her arrival, she taught Functional Skills programmes and ran teacher training programmes for another Further Education provider.
Julia believes there is no greater privilege in life than sharing knowledge to help others succeed and states that watching her trainees graduate and progress in their teaching careers is the most satisfying aspect of her role. She says: “Teaching is one of the most challenging careers you can have but it is also one of the most rewarding.”
In her spare time, Julia lists reading and gardening as her favourite hobbies
