Winner: Small Employer
The role of Melksham Town Council is to strengthen the sense of community, create and promote inclusivity, improve the quality of life for all people and help every individual to fulfil and exceed in their aspirations. The Council’s commitment to this has been continually demonstrated through the apprenticeships they support.
Historically, learners have progressed through the use of apprenticeships to enhance their roles and responsibility within their Live Event and more recently Business Administration operations. Currently the Town Council’s Business Administration Apprentice has been the driving force behind setting up the Wellbeing Hub at Melksham Town Council. This is a service available to anyone who is struggling during this difficult time, such as people who are shielding or self-isolating and don’t have a support network around them or know where to get help. The Town Council’s commitment to their apprentices and its community makes it a worthy winner of the Wiltshire College & University Centre Small Employer Award for Apprentices in 2021.
