Winner: Medium Employer
Exeter House School are very proud of their apprentices.
The Deputy Head, Ticki Stickley, says “Our apprentices are an amazing group of people who between them offer an extraordinary amount to the school. They all have a real passion for learning and developing their skills and this has a radiating effect on the teams that they work with”.
As an employer, Exeter House School feels it is essential that their workforce reflects the local community, and as such they believe apprenticeships allow them to have enthusiastic workers and people who are just beginning to develop their education skills as part of their staff. This ensures that they’re able to ‘grow their own’ skilled practitioners and ensure high levels of staff retention in the future.
The assessing team at Wiltshire College & University Centre find it a joy to work with the talented and dedicated team at Exeter House School. Over the past few years we have built a strong working relationship with Tracey Allman (Head of HR) and Ticki Stickley. All the staff from fellow teaching assistants to the senior leadership team are very supportive of the apprentices and Matt Sambrook, the Executive Head, has personally given some of the apprentices extra maths lessons to help them pass their Functional Skills. The College have supported apprentices with Exeter House School for several years now and are currently progressing three of their existing apprentices onto the Level 3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship.
