Winner: Level 3 Team Leader/Supervisor Apprenticeship
Dean put himself forward for the Team Leader/Supervisor apprenticeship with Babcock to prepare himself for future management opportunities. At the time Dean managed one colleague. He wanted to develop his management skills to provide better support and be in a position to apply for future opportunities, having increased his experience and confidence.
Dean worked really hard to implement the new skills and knowledge he was acquiring during the apprenticeship. At each meeting, which in pre-Zoom days Dean was travelling from Plymouth to attend, Dean recounted examples of the impact the training was having on his role. Dean attended each assessment well prepared, with a folder full of quality evidence which he was ready to discuss in detail.
Alongside the apprenticeship, Dean also achieved both English and maths Level 2 Functional Skills qualifications, showing the same application and determination to succeed as he did with his apprenticeship assessments.
Since completing his apprenticeship, Dean has recently received a promotion and took the time to contact me to say that he’s using the knowledge and skills gained during his apprenticeship and is getting positive feedback on his management from his new team.
