Travelling by bus to Wiltshire College

Travelling to Wiltshire College

All Students who are under 19 and live more than 3 miles from college are entitled to subsidised transport to Wiltshire College.

If you live in Wiltshire, and are under 19 and live more than 3 miles from the College campus you will attend, you are probably eligible for a subsidised bus pass from Wiltshire Council, as long as the college is your nearest provider of the course.

A Post 16 Transport Application will be sent to you from Wiltshire Council. However, if you do not receive one, a copy is available from Customer Services at your designated campus.

Bus passes last for one academic year only and you can APPLY NOW. Please ensure you return the application form to Wiltshire Council by 30th June, particularly if you wish to pay by instalments. Late applications are considered, but may mean your pass is not available for the start of term.

The cost of the pass for 2015/16 will be £625 for the year or £156 if your gross household income for 14/15 is less than £20,819. Passes are for travel to and from college only and are valid for Monday to Friday, term time only.

For enquiries about this bus pass, please contact Wiltshire Council on 0300 4560100

Behaviour on buses

Drivers of buses have a duty of care for the safety and comfort of themselves and their passengers and have strict instructions about what to do if students are behaving badly. The passenger transport unit has the right to exclude students from buses if they are consistently disruptive or cause damage.

Travelling by car

The College campuses are very busy and are used by people of all ages. Everyone is expected to drive and park safely and with care. A serious view is taken of students who drive without care and put the safety of others at risk.

Car Parking

Free car parking is available on the main sites but is limited at some of the smaller centres.

All students using the car parks are required to pick up a free parking permit from the campus student liaison team which must be displayed on the windscreen. Your car details will be registered so that we can contact you with any parking enquiries.

Please keep emergency access points clear by only parking in marked bays. Vehicles not parked in marked bays are subject to wheel clamping.

We ask you not to park in DISABLED driver bays unless you are entitled to do so.

We are unable to take responsibility for any theft or damage that may occur onsite.
