Course Overview
The purpose of this course is to look at the next steps in starting your own business. You will be expanding on your business ideas and focussing on key areas of interest to you. The course runs for six weeks, sessions last for 2 hours, and it is taught during school hours and during term time.
What will I learn?
Review of business ideas – What are your ideas so far. What changes have you made. How have your ideas evolved?
The current environment– What is happening in the current environment. Market data. What effect will that have. How to develop contingency plans.
Marketing skills – Developing skills on research, consumer behaviour, competition analysis, market data, promotion, and evaluation
Leadership skills – Defining the leadership skills required for your business
Legal requirements – Update on current legislation and business requirements
Business plan – Reviewing your business plan to consolidate and update information
Review and evaluation – Have your business ideas changed. Is there any aspect you are going to update?
Study, Assessment and Qualifications
Assessment is informal, based on your personal targets and the learning outcomes will be undertaken regularly with you by the course tutor.
