Course Overview
The purpose of this course is to look at the option of starting your own business. It will explore the possibilities available and how to take the next step in creating your business. Giving you the chance to turn something you enjoy into employment. The course runs for 6 weeks, sessions last for 2 hours, and it is taught during school hours and during term time.

The legal requirements to set up
Type of business ownership you require. The different legislation you need to
know. The requirements for Tax and VAT registering your business.
Money matters
The costs involved and managing these. We will cover how to present the
numbers through projected cash flow, profit and loss and break-even point.
Resources required
What do you already have and what will you need.
Making a business plan
This will put all that you have researched into a formal plan.
Marketing your business
Making a marketing plan to fit your business.
Review and evaluation
Covering how you will check the success of your business.
Study, Assessment and Qualifications
Assessment is informal, based on your personal targets and the learning outcomes will be undertaken regularly with you by the course tutor.
